Unloading, Grading & Transport

Unloading:
Unloading in Sri Lanka (a) Fisheries Harbor Corporation Mutwal (b) Commercial harbor Galle.

 

Grading:
Grading is done mainly on 4 categories: (a) Gill and Gutted Sashimi products to Japan & other countries, (b) bullet quality (head & tail off) to USA, (c) EU grade loin to European market.

 

Processing:
"Gill and gut" is done to evacuate all perishable and contaminable internal fish organs and then inserted in chilled water, Refrigerated Sea Water (RSW), Bloc Ice.

 

Packing:
After on-board handling, grading (viz. removing those unsuitable for consumption and export), and processing, packing is done in corrugated boxes, with dry ice, or gel ice, for air freight, fully frozen or fresh.

 

Transport:
Transporting is done locally by special equipped Freezer Trucks, from the Processing Plant to the Airport. The processed product is then internationally transported by airfreight.
